The Tenth and Fifteenth Illinois Cavalry were combined late in the War; under Special Orders, No. 24, January 26, 1865, "The original service term of the Tenth and Fifteenth Regiments Illinois Cavalry Volunteers having expired the re-enlisted men and recruits of the same will,-----re-organized as the Tenth Regiment Illinois Cavalry Volunteers.
