Chalmette National Cemetery
- adjacent to the site of the Battle of New Orleans
- along the Mississippi River in Chalmette, Louisiana.
- established in May 1864
- site for 7,000+ interments of Union soldiers moved from abandoned cemeteries
located all over southern Louisiana, Ship Island, and Mississippi.
- over 12,000 soldiers but almost 7,000 are unknown.

Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, Kentucky
- Cemetery is located 2 miles south of Camp Nelson (originally
called Fort Bramlette), the site of a large camp hospital.
- In 1868, over 2000 bodies were moved here from other areas of
Kentucky, including nearly 1000 from the Battle of Perryville.
- Many of the death dates are 8 Oct 1862 (Battle of Perryville)
and later in the month of Oct 1862.

Stones River National Cemetery, near Murfreesboro, Tennessee

- Many of the burials are from soldiers who fell at Stones River in
December of 1862. However others from other dates and locations are
interred here as well.
