Served as private in Co. A commanded by Capt. W.W. Bishop in the 103 Regiment of Ill. Volunteers.
Mustered into service on 2 Oct 1862 at Peoria, IL.
Disabled in the line of duty at LaGrange, Tennessee on or about 15 May 1863 by general debility caused by cold and exposure.
Height: 5'8", complexion: sandy, eyes: blue, Hair: light.

3 May 1862 conscripted in Confederate Army as private in Captain Yell's Co., AR Infantry at Monticello, AR.
Assigned to Co. A, Morgan's battalion, AR Infantry commanded by General Hindman.
Early in 1863 escaped Conf. Army going north and 27 Feb 1864 enlisted at Olney, IL in Co. A, 6th IL Cav.
12 Aug 1864 captured by rebels in line of duty in battle between A.(J.?) Smith (Union) and Gen. Forrest (Rebel) at Hurricane Creek near the town of Oxford, MS.
Imprisoned at Cahawba, AL.
Disabled by his prison experience and received diability pension after the war.
Honorably discharged at Springfield, IL 30 May 1865.
After the war his P.O. address was Marshall Prairie, Newton, AR.
He was on the tax roles of Searcy Co., AR from 1886 to 1903.

The History of Fulton Co. IL lists a Thomas A. Brice on p. 742 which could be my Thomas Henry PRICE. He told his grandchildren that he served in the civil war as a drummer boy.
He was in Fountain Co. Indiana in 1860 census but it is possible that he came to Illinois and enlisted.
He also told his grandchildren that a congressman in Glenwood, CO was actively trying to get him a pension. He was a member of the GAR in Colorado. I have not tried to get a pension file for him because I do not think he ever received one but would like to find out if any of the lists associated with the 103rd Regiment has him named.
